Widgets in ExtraDock 5#

Widgets are interactive dock items. Add them from the selected dock's Items section by choosing Widgets from the Add to Dock menu.

Widget library#

The library shows a live preview of each widget, grouped into Apps, Folders, Finance, Clocks, Tasks, and System. Use the Search widgets field (⌘F) to filter by name or category; press Return to add the only match. Hover a card for a short description.

Click a card to add the widget. Link, Folder Stack, App Stack, Stripe Balance, and Bluetooth Battery open a setup panel first; Configure and Add in a card's right-click menu opens that panel for any widget. You can also drag a card straight onto a dock.

Most widgets can be added more than once. Live Dock and Trash are limited to one instance in a dock, and the library marks them Already in this dock. Monitor Dock in the Add to Dock menu adds all of the system and device monitors at once.

Configure a widget#

Open Items and click the widget's settings control, or choose Widget Settings from its context menu in the dock. Settings belong to that widget instance unless the page says otherwise. The dock context menu also offers Remove Widget, which asks for confirmation.

Available widgets#

The Virtual Trash widget is no longer offered in the library. Docks that already contain one keep working; see Trash in ExtraDock 5.

Some widgets depend on a permission, entitlement, connected service, or feature rollout. A widget already stored in a dock remains represented safely even if its service is temporarily unavailable.
