Use ExtraDock 5 with Multiple Displays#

ExtraDock separates display assignment from position.

  1. Select a dock in the Manager.
  2. Open Screens. Enable Show on All Screens to mirror the dock on every connected display, or leave it off and switch on the allowed displays under Known Screens.
  3. Open Position and choose pinned or floating placement.
  4. Drag on a particular display when you need a screen-specific floating position.

When Show on All Screens is enabled, ExtraDock keeps the dock's assignments but ignores them until mirroring is turned off. Without mirroring, a dock with several connected assignments appears on one matching screen at a time.

When a display disconnects, ExtraDock retains its identity and assignments for reconnection. Display replacements, docks, adapters, or macOS changes can make a screen appear new; use Choose Display, Merge, Rename, and Forget Screen in the Screens section when that happens. See Screens.

Export screen diagnostics from Diagnostics if a dock repeatedly moves to the wrong display or loses an assignment.
