Screens#

The Manager's Screens section controls where a dock is allowed to appear.

Show on All Screens#

Enable Show on All Screens to mirror the dock on every connected display. ExtraDock keeps the screen assignments below, but ignores them while mirroring is enabled. The mirrored copies share the dock's items and settings; edits made on any copy are saved to the dock.

Shows On#

When Show on All Screens is off, assign the dock to the displays where you want it available by switching them on under Known Screens. With no assignments, the dock can appear on any screen. With assignments, it appears on one matching connected screen at a time and hides while none of them are connected. Each assignment shows Connected or Not connected and a Remove button. ExtraDock records stable display identity information so assignments can survive reconnects and changes in display arrangement.

Known Screens#

Every display ExtraDock has seen is listed here. Right-click a screen to Rename it or Forget Screen, which removes it from every dock's assignments. If two identical displays cannot be told apart, a Needs Attention section offers Choose Display, which highlights each display so you can click This One. Possible Duplicates offers Merge when a replaced monitor or adapter made one physical display look like two.

Diagnostics#

Export Screen Diagnostics saves the screen resolver's recent decisions as JSON for a support report. See Diagnostics.

Position and Screens work together#

Screens decides where a dock may appear. Position decides how it is placed. Dragging a dock on one display can establish a position for that display, whereas changing the general Position setting applies a shared position.
