Menu Bar Menu#

ExtraDock adds an icon to the macOS menu bar when Show ExtraDock as in Settings → General includes the menu bar. Click it for quick access to the Manager, Settings, and every dock.

Main items#

  • Open ExtraDock Manager — Open the management window.
  • ExtraDock Settings — Open App Settings (⌘,).
  • New Dock — Create a dock with your New Docks defaults.
  • About ExtraDock — Show the version and build number.
  • Check for Updates — Look for a new version on your update channel.
  • Quit ExtraDock.

Accessibility Permission Needed appears above the About item while the permission is missing. While ExtraDock is checking or cannot confirm your license, the menu shrinks to the license actions and Quit ExtraDock.

Per-dock submenus#

Each dock is listed by name. Its submenu contains:

  • A note such as Hidden by auto-hide, Hidden while fullscreen, or Hidden by an overlapping window when the dock is currently out of view.
  • Hide Dock or Show Dock — Hide the dock at runtime or return it to its own visibility settings.
  • Enabled — Turn the dock on or off.
  • Edit Dock or Done Editing — Enter or leave Dock Edit Mode. See Dock Edit Mode.
  • Position Mode — Floating (Horizontal or Vertical) or Pinned (Bottom, Top, Left, or Right). A Notch dock offers each edge's three notch positions instead.
  • Lock Position — Prevent a floating dock from being dragged.
  • Size — Small (32 px), Medium (48 px), Large (64 px), or Match macOS Dock Size.
  • Open in Manager — Select the dock in the Manager.

If you have no docks yet, the menu shows No Docks.
