New Dock Defaults#
Open Settings → New Docks to choose the starting configuration for docks you create later. Changing a default does not rewrite existing docks.
Default style#
Turn on Customize style for new docks to replace ExtraDock's built-in style with your own defaults:
- Icon size — Small (32 pt), Medium (48 pt, the default), Large (64 pt), or Custom from 20 to 128 pt.
- Bar thickness — Auto, which fits the icon size, or Thin, Standard, Thick, or a custom value.
- Spacing between icons — Tight, Default, Roomy, Spacious, or a custom value.
- Magnify icons on hover — On by default.
Behavior#
Turn on Customize behavior for new docks to set:
- Hide automatically — Off by default.
- Hide when a fullscreen app is active — On by default.
- Clicking the active app's icon — Do nothing (the default), Minimize the front window, Hide the app, or Cycle the app's windows. Each dock can change this later in its Behavior section.
Reset#
Reset to Built-in Defaults discards both customizations so new docks start from ExtraDock's built-in style and behavior again.
Position and screen assignments are not part of New Docks. New docks start floating in the center of the screen; set placement on each dock through the Manager's Position and Screens sections.
