Icon Library#

Open Settings → Icon Library to browse, search, import, or remove custom icons available to dock items.

The page shows how many icons you have stored and marks each one In use with a count or Unused. Use the Search icons field to filter the grid. Import icons with Import Files (PNG, JPEG, and other image files; you can select several at once) or paste an image address and click Download.

Use a custom icon#

  1. Open the Manager and select a dock.
  2. Open Items.
  3. Click the custom icon control on an app, file, or folder row.
  4. Choose Set from File, Import from URL, or Choose from Library. Clear Custom Icon returns the item to its default icon.

The library is app-wide. Changing one item's icon does not modify the original application, file, or folder on disk. Widgets such as Link, Finder, Folder Stack, and App Stack offer a custom icon in their own settings.

When you delete an icon that is already in use, ExtraDock lists the affected items and asks for confirmation. Remove & Delete clears those icon references, returns the items to their default icons, and deletes the stored icon file. Deleting an unused icon asks Delete this icon?.
