Introducing ExtraDock 5#
ExtraDock 5 gives you multiple customizable docks on macOS 26. Each dock can have its own items, layout, position, display assignments, behavior, and widgets.
ExtraDock 5 is a separate application generation#
ExtraDock 5 has a new Manager, settings hierarchy, persistence system, and set of dock and widget capabilities. Its documentation lives separately from the ExtraDock 4 manual.
Core concepts#
- Manager — Create docks and edit the selected dock.
- Dock sections — Items, Style, Position, Screens, and Behavior.
- Dock Edit Mode — Docks are locked by default; right-click and choose Edit Dock to rearrange, remove, or drop items on the dock itself.
- App Settings — Defaults and options that apply across the application.
- Widgets — Interactive dock content such as clocks, shelves, system monitors, running-app views, and utilities.
- Dock and Notch layouts — A dock can use a conventional bar or a shape attached to a screen edge.
Your configuration stays on your Mac unless you explicitly use a sharing or connected-service feature.
