Notch Layout#

ExtraDock 4 can present a dock as a black shape attached to a screen edge.

Enable Notch#

1. Open the management window and select a dock.
2. Open Properties.
3. In Appearance, set Layout to Notch.
4. Choose a notch position in Position.
5. Configure the Notch idle mode and timing in Behavior.

Notch is always pinned. Each screen edge offers three positions: either end or the middle. Only a notch at the top center merges with the camera notch; the other positions sit below the menu bar with corner clearance. The position picker marks a spot that another notch dock already uses, so several notch docks can share one screen.

Choose whether the notch remains shown, folds to a pill, or hides at the edge. Ordinary dock options that do not apply are set aside while Notch is active.

Bottom-edge Notch placement requires hiding the native macOS Dock in Settings → General.
