Integrations#
Connect ExtraDock to third-party services used by widgets, other Appit apps, and AI assistants.
Open Settings (⚙) → Integrations to manage connections.
Talk Integrations#
Other Appit apps on this Mac can connect to ExtraDock without pairing codes. Talk Integrations lists the apps that can connect and the access each one has.
DockFlow appears here so its presets can choose which ExtraDock docks are shown. ExtraDock checks whether a signed copy of DockFlow is installed and reports its status. Click Connect, review what the app will be able to do, and choose Allow. Approval is saved and the connection returns on its own after either app restarts.
Under Apps with access, use Permissions to review an app's access or Remove to revoke it. A removed app can connect again later.
AI Assistants#
ExtraDock can expose its docks to a local AI assistant through a Model Context Protocol (MCP) connection. This requires macOS 13 or later.
- Enable Allow AI assistants to configure ExtraDock. Access stays off until you do.
- Choose Codex or Claude Code in Install assistant skill for and click Install or Update Skill. Start a new assistant chat afterwards.
- Use Copy Codex Command or Copy Claude Code Command and paste the command into Terminal, or Copy MCP Configuration and merge it into your client's MCP settings. Add to Editor can add the connection to Cursor or Visual Studio Code. Restart the client afterwards, or use Retry Connection if the assistant cannot reach ExtraDock.
Connected assistants can read your docks and change layouts, apps, widgets, appearance, and behavior. Deleting a dock or an item asks for your approval in ExtraDock; choose Allow Once for that request or Allow for This Session to approve the rest of that chat. YOLO mode: skip approval prompts lets assistants delete docks and items, quit apps, and change Trash and Shelf contents without asking first. ExtraDock 4 and ExtraDock 5 use separate connections.
Stripe#
The Stripe Balance widget needs a Stripe API key to fetch live revenue data.
Connecting your account#
- Click Open Stripe Dashboard — this opens the Stripe key creation page with recommended read-only permissions pre-filled
- Copy the generated key (starts with
rk_live_,rk_test_,sk_live_, orsk_test_) - Paste it into the Stripe API Key field and click Save Key
The key is stored securely in your macOS Keychain and is never sent to ExtraDock's servers.
Managing the key#
Once connected, the integrations page shows the connection status and when the key was last updated. You can:
- Delete Key — Removes the key from Keychain. Stripe widgets will stop updating until a new key is added.
Use restricted keys (rk_) for the safest read-only access. You can revoke the key anytime from your Stripe dashboard.
