The Management Window#

The management window is ExtraDock's central control panel. It shows all your docks and lets you configure everything.

Opening it#

  • Menu bar — Click the ExtraDock icon → Show App
  • Keyboard shortcut — ⌘ + ⇧ + M
  • Right-click any dock → Open Dock Settings

Layout#

The window has two parts:

  • Left sidebar — List of all your docks. Click one to select it. The About, Support, and Settings buttons at the bottom open the About window, a support email, and App Settings.
  • Right panel — Two tabs for the selected dock:

    • Dock Items — The apps, folders, files, and widgets in this dock
    • Properties — Layout, appearance, position, behavior, shortcuts, effects, and actions

The dock header shows the dock's name with a rename pencil, its screen, position, and whether it is visible.

Properties tab#

The Properties tab is organized into collapsible sections:

  • Layout — Switch between Dock and Notch layouts
  • Appearance — Icon size, spacing, magnification, background style, border
  • Position — Orientation, floating/fixed mode, edge alignment, screen assignment
  • Behavior — Auto-hide, fullscreen hiding, collapse, interactions
  • Shortcuts — Per-dock global hotkey
  • Effects — Snow, Rays, and fireworks overlays
  • Actions — Hide, duplicate, copy debug info, or remove the dock

Items tab#

The Dock Items tab shows everything in your dock:

  • Drag items to reorder them
  • Click the gear icon to configure an item
  • Click the red minus button to remove one item
  • Use Add Item to add apps, folders, or files, or Browse for Apps in an empty dock
  • Use Add Widget to add widgets
  • Right-click an item to remove it, open or quit it, change or revert its icon, show it in Finder, or copy and move it to another dock. Widgets offer Configure Widget instead, and the URL widget adds Duplicate with Style.
