Dock Edit Mode and browser profiles
Docks are locked by default with a new Edit Dock mode for changes, plus New Window with Profile for Chromium browsers.
New
- Dock Edit Mode. Docks stay locked so nothing moves by accident. Right-click and choose Edit Dock to reorder items, remove them with the minus badge, or drop files from Finder to pin them. Save, Done Editing, Escape or Return wraps it up.
- Dropping a file on Trash, a shelf, a folder or an app sends it there instead of pinning it to the dock.
- New Window with Profile for Chrome, Brave, Edge, Vivaldi and Chromium, from the dock and the App Launcher widget.
- The Manager shows who hid a dock, like DockFlow or a Focus filter, with a Show Dock button to bring it back.
- License activation gets a Paste button, and Return activates.
Improvements
- The notch dock opens and closes smoothly, even the first time after launch. Collapsing and auto-hide are smoother, and the dock no longer stutters while apps launch or quit.
- Far less background work while you are not using ExtraDock, so it is easier on your battery.
- New Window and private windows from the App Launcher widget open on your current Space, even when that app’s other windows are on another Desktop. Safari profiles work too, and you see a message instead of a Space jump if a window cannot open.
- Temperature widgets read the CPU temperature on M5 Macs. Export Logs includes update details with personal info removed.
Fixes
- Running two copies of the same app no longer crashes the dock.
- App Stack, Folder Stack and launcher widgets respond right after you edit them and right after launch.
- Reserve Dock Space no longer moves or resizes a window while that app’s menu is open. On screens without a camera notch, the notch pill no longer pops open over browser tabs.
- A valid license key no longer shows a server error after choosing Later on the ExtraDock 4 license import, and the Manager window no longer opens by itself when DockFlow or ExtraBar reconnect.
